Bacti Strips
Bacti Strips provide a convenient method for the detection of urinary infections.
Description: Sterile strips of filter paper (60mm x 5mm) with score 15mm from one end
Method of use: Remove strip from container, taking care to hold the end away from the score line. Dip the end nearer the score line into the urine specimen, immersing as far as the line. Remove from urine, allow excess to drain off, and press damp end onto an agar plate. Allow strip to bend at score so the entire end section is pressed against agar for a few seconds, then remove and discard as hazardous clinical waste. After incubating agar plate overnight at 37°C, count and record number of colonies on area contacted by strip.
