Osteo-Bed Bone Embedding Kit

Formulation for embedding large and small mineralized (undecalcified) bone specimens. Large bone samples embedded with Osteo-Bed should be sectioned with a heavy-duty microtome. Small bone and soft tissue should be sectioned with a microtome designed to cut plastic embedded materials. Osteo-Bed is a methyl methacrylate-based material that can be removed from the section and allows the use of staining procedures very much like a paraffin section. Also recommended for immunohistochemistry procedures performed on trephines and other non-decalcified bone or soft tissues. Not water-soluble.
