Purolite® ECR8305M Amino C2 Methacrylate is an amino resin with low porosity. This carrier is stable during storage and can be easily handled before and after immobilization procedures. ECR8305M Amino C2 Methacrylate requires pre-activation by glutaraldehyde and then can be used in the covalent immobilization of enzymes. Reaction of the aldehyde groups with amino groups of enzymes to form Schiff bases is fast and gives stable multipoint covalent binding with mainly ε-amino groups of Lysines. An even more stable linkage can be achieved by reduction with borohydrides. Immobilization proceeds at low ionic buffer strength.
ECR8305M Amino C2 Methacrylate allows to multipoint covalent binding between enzymes and the resin. ECR8305M Amino C2 Methacrylate is produced via intense crosslinking in the presence of a porogenic agent that allows the calibration of porosity. The reacting amino group is on a short dimethylene spacer.
ECR8305M Amino C2 Methacrylate is mechanically very stable and the final immobilized biocatalysts can be used in both stirred tank or bed reactor.
ECR8305M is compliant with Resolution ResAP 2004 (3) on ion exchange and adsorbent resins used in the processing of foodstuffs.
