Research on paclitaxel remains a robust area of research. For example, Stone, et al have studied polymer-based Paclitaxel eluting stents for coronary artery disease and found that the Paclitaxel eluting stent markedly reduced the of clinical and angiographic restenosis1.
In addition, Le Broc-Ryckewaert, et al are developing paclitaxel-loaded PLGA nanoparticles in an attempt to minimize the negative side effects of paclitaxel by controlled release from PLGA particles2.
