β-Cyclodextrin
C42H70O35
Beta-cyclodextrin (β- CD) is a cyclic oligosaccharide with a hydrophobic inner cavity and a hydrophilic outer surface. It is used as excipients in drug formulations, such as liposomes, microspheres, microcapsules, and nanoparticles, to improve the solubility and permeability of hydrophobic drugs . β- CD is cross linked with polymers and other reagents to control drug release.
